About Us

The Stephen-Russell Group was founded in 1997 by Stephen Grant after completing the sale and merger of his San Diego staffing company with Rho Company of Washington state. 

Early advisory engagements included projects such as guiding an entrepreneur through startup of a staffing company (continued to advise during the successful seven-year operation and ultimate sale of the company); guiding a minority owner of a staffing company through the sale of the business while assuring that his interests were protected and that he was appropriately compensated; and serving as an expert adviser to a business owner's legal counsel in the successful and favorable resolution of a lawsuit 

Over the years, Steve has served as a coach to owners and managers; has been an expert witness/legal adviser on several occasions; has advised owners of staffing companies and other types of businesses in operating more efficiently and profitably, increasing sales, starting and operating new service lines, preparing their companies for sale, evaluating potential acquisitions, making and assimilating acquisitions; has served as a "hands-on" senior/executive manager with full P&L responsibility and more as described elsewhere in this web site.
